October 2001

Greetings friends,

Wanda, Bob and I would like to initially extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for the response to our previous newsletter involving your faithful covering in prayer. The Lord has made it clear that we must have more intercessory support in the things He would have us doing in this hour and the days ahead. Thank you for agreeing to stand with us in this endeavor.

We have received the many email responses sent to us and actually read each one. Unfortunately, we are physically unable to respond to everyone because of time restraints. However, we do want you know they are all read and appreciated, especially the anointed prayers that many of you sent.

We will do our best to continually update you as often as possible concerning issues related to the insights and intercessory objectives the Holy Spirit releases to us. It seems the revelations, prophetic mandates, and spiritual activity have all escalated since September. Without question, the battle is on a new level and we must respond in faith and truth to meet the enemy, who is trying to undermine the purposes of heaven in this notable day.

A few days ago Bob was in an experience similar to the one given to Peter in Acts 10:10. In this experience, the Lord gave him a vision and revealed that the Spirit of Truth is being released to provide a place of rest. He saw it as a pillow descending from heaven with the words inscribed on it, “Spirit of Truth”.

The “pillow” (Spirit of Truth) is the place upon which we can rest our faith and upon which the government can “rest”. The Lord declared, where the Spirit of Truth is, there will be liberty and peace. This will be our antidote for the anxiety that the enemy is desiring to sow.

The Spirit of Truth is highlighting divine strategy necessary in responding to the attack of the enemy and his design to frustrate the divine purposes being birthed. This is primarily being targeted through our national leadership and the pending decisions related to the land of Israel.

It is difficult to express the importance of the decisions presently being made within our government concerning Israel. We can influence those decisions in a righteous way through prayer. That is the Lord’s promise.

The Lord shared with Bob that Psalm 18 is a “plumb-line” of His anointing. There is a dividing line being drawn between those who clearly serve the Lord and those who do not. We will either serve the Lord with joy and gladness or will serve the enemy of fear, doubt, and unbelief. The Lord is going to contend for those who are His. The Spirit of Truth will provide the ammunition needed in this battle. Our Helper will not leave us as orphans, but will reveal to us things to come and bring illumination to the written Word.

We are including a prophetic word recently given concerning the land of Israel and the promise for our president to hear clearly from the Lord concerning Israel. The Lord is desiring to bless our nation with a great awakening. The enemy is attempting to lead our national leadership in decisions that would grieve the Lord and produce judgment against our nation thereby frustrating and inhibiting our divine opportunities.

If we will pray, the Lord will speak profoundly to our president and overcome the ungodly influences presently directing his decisions concerning Israel.

Abundant blessings of grace and peace,

Paul Keith Davis

In early October we had the opportunity to participate in a prayer gathering in Washington D.C.. Upon arriving in Washington, we quickly discerned the amplified spiritual activity in our nation’s capitol. Our hotel literally overlooked the Pentagon and we took the Metro each day into downtown Washington. It was clearly apparent, the heightened spiritual struggle in our nation’s capitol is so great that it would be impossible for any man to make a Godly decision without a substantial covering in prayer.

It was made obvious to us that numerous enemies of the Lord and His church have established strongholds in Washington D.C., for the purpose of injecting into the spiritual arena their ungodly agendas as it relates to our nation, the church and Israel. In significant ways, we have already been receiving the Lord’s call and commission to greatly enhanced intercessory prayer. Nevertheless, being in Washington made the call to prayer all the more prominent.

On the last day of the prayer gathering, the Lord shared with me an exceptionally vivid revelation concerning our president and the nation of Israel. In this experience, the Holy Spirit featured Genesis 20 as a scriptural reference for the place in which we are presently standing in regard to our nation’s leadership and the land of Israel.

Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” So Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married.”

Now Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, “Lord, will You slay a nation, even though blameless?

Did he not himself say to me, “She is my sister’? And she herself said, “He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this. Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.

Now therefore, restore the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not restore her know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours. (Gen 20:2-7)

In this notable passage, the patriarch Abraham had journeyed into the southern country and settled in the land of Gerar. The king of this area was a man by the name of Abimelech whom the scriptures describe as a man of integrity.

As was his legal right for that day, Abimelech took Sarah into his palace because she was only initially recognized as the sister of Abraham. Because of this decision, the Lord Himself appeared to Abimelech in a dream with a profound message. In this experience the Lord warned Abimelech that he and all that he owned were as good as dead because of the woman he had taken into his home.

Abimelech responded with a unique salutation. He called the Lord, “Adonai” which means, “my Lord” and is an expression of relationship and reverence. Somehow this Philistine king had established integrity in his heart and actually called the Lord “Adonai” as an expression of his reverence for the God of creation.

This notable King acknowledged that in the integrity of his heart, his hands were innocent because of this act. The Lord then made a profound statement to Abimelech. The Lord said, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.

What a profound experience for this man to have. How often we would relish the Lord coming to us to warn us so we would not sin against Him. In reality, that is precisely the promise that He is giving our nation in this hour.

When the Lord gave this passage in Washington, He related Sarah to the land of Israel and Abimelech to our president. Although Sarah was the sister of Abraham, she was also the wife of the Lord’s prophet and the one through whom the promised seed was to be manifested. She had a dual identity and only one of those was recognized by Abimelech.

Likewise, there is the natural land of Israel and its natural implication and historical significance, but then there is also her spiritual identity and covenant future which many national leaders fail to recognize.

The Lord told Abimelech that Sarah is married, therefore to touch her and her spiritual destiny would be a grave sin resulting in the entire nation suffering the consequences. That is precisely the covenant relationship the Lord describes for Himself with the land of Israel. It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; but you will be called, “My delight is in her,” and your land, “Married” (Beulah); for the LORD delights in you, and to Him your land will be married. (Isa 62:4)

Through His covenant, the Lord has a betrothal relationship with the land and to touch it wrongly would be a grave transgression resulting in immediate and severe penalty as experienced by Abimelech and his nation. Though we as the predominantly gentile bride have been grafted in, the covenant promise for the land of Israel remains— until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB. THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS. From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; (Rom 11:25-28)

Further, the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ lies on the soil of Israel. When the Holy Spirit first spoke this to me it left a lasting effect. The very blood of God remains in the soil of that sacred land with its prophetic destiny. That seemed to make it very personal.

Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; and do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; but you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.

For your husband is your maker, whose name is the LORD of hosts; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, who is called the God of all the earth.

For the LORD has called you, like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” says your God. (Isa 54:4-6)

The Lord Himself will shortly call this land Beulah (married), for to Him the land will be united. Likewise, the same prophetic warning is being issued to our national leadership that was also given to Abimelech.

Abimelech asked the Lord if He would destroy an entire nation though seemingly blameless. In other words, would You punish and scourge a nation because of a mistake made by the leadership of that nation for failing to recognize ones spiritual destiny and covenant promise. The response is an affirmative.

The scriptures make it plain that harsh judgement would have come to their nation had Abimelech been willing to “have pleasure for personal gain” with Sarah. The same is being resounded for our nation.

We have stood with Israel as a natural ally but at the same time worked against her as it relates to her spiritual destiny. There is presently a strong push being made by our national leadership to further divide the Lord’s land and thus bring discipline on our nation. Prayer can change that directive.

I believe the Lord has given us a special promise that He will visit our president with an “Abimelech experience” if we will pray and intercede in his behalf. Because of the integrity of President Bush’s heart, the Lord will come to him in a profound way with a warning concerning the land of Israel so he and our nation would not sin against the Lord and His covenant land.

I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. (Joel 3:2)

This notable prophetic mandate declares the Lord will bring punishment upon the nations who have scattered His people and who have divided HIS LAND. The scriptures make it plain, this is His land in which He is in covenant. If we violate that land, it will be a sin against the Lord not just the natural seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

So much hinges upon our willingness to pray with a heart of devotion and commitment. The Lord is giving us a profound assurance that He will literally keep our president from sinning against Him as it relates to the land of Israel, if we as the church will respond with the appropriate level of consecrated prayer.

In 1999, when the original prophetic word was given concerning George Bush and the presidency of the United States, there was a portion of the revelation that has not yet come to pass. In that original prophecy, the Lord said that He would see to it that our president gave an open door to His prophetic Voice. I believe that prophetic promise will be fulfilled with our commitment to prayer.

We have been given an allotment of redeemed time. With the election of George Bush as our president, there has been given to us an allotment of time through which we can see kingdom purposes established in our nation and in the earth.

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. (Eph 5:15-16)

The enemy is doing all that he can to undermine this divine opportunity. As the scriptures point out, we must walk as wise men and not as unwise and make the most of this time for the days are unquestionably evil.

All that was unleashed in our nation on September 11, and the days that have followed, has been to pre-empt the birthing of God’s purposes in our nation. Great spiritual influences are being concentrated in the spiritual atmosphere releasing ungodly counsel toward our president and his decisions concerning the nation and land of Israel. This is a vital issue that must be handled with Godly wisdom and in accordance with scriptural mandates.

Although there will come a day, according to the scriptures, when all the nations will turn against Israel, we presently have a divine promise for this segment of redeemed time by which those things can be postponed and the kingdom established in the earth in power and glory. We refer to the kingdom simply as the Lord Jesus Christ living and abiding in His people, doing the same works through His people that He did while on the earth in human form. This will be a literal fulfillment of John 14:12.
